Ethiopian Airlines Reports Record Revenue of $6.2 Billion in 2025

Ethiopian Airlines Group has announced a record-breaking annual revenue of $6.2 billion for the fiscal year ending June 2025, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. The achievement cements the carrier's position as Africa's largest and most profitable airline.

CEO Mesfin Tasew attributed the growth to expanded routes, increased cargo operations, and the airline's successful fleet modernization program. "We have maintained our trajectory of excellence while navigating global challenges," Tasew said during the annual press conference in Addis Ababa.

The airline's cargo division saw particularly strong growth, with revenues increasing by 12% year-over-year. Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services now operates one of the largest cargo networks in Africa, with dedicated freighter services to over 40 destinations.

Passenger numbers reached 15.8 million, a new record, driven by increased demand on routes to Asia, Europe, and within Africa. The airline added 12 new destinations during the year, including direct flights to three new cities in West Africa.

Looking ahead, Ethiopian Airlines plans to receive 15 new Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 aircraft over the next two years as part of its Vision 2035 growth strategy, which aims to make it the leading aviation group globally.
